Wetzel County, West Virginia
This all galvanized steel truss bridge was fabricated in three sections. The nested floorbeams allow for an unobstructed waterway thereby allowing debris to flow freely downstream. The existing abutments were determined to be in excellent condition therefore they were preserved and a reinforced concrete cap was installed at each end of the bridge. By utilizing the existing abutments, U.S. Bride was able to save the customer a significant amount of money since abutment removal and new abutment installation could be avoided. An additional pour was made in front of each abutment to prevent any undermining that could have occurred.
